Energy

The Project will meet its electricity needs from a combination of on-site solar PV and remotely sourced wind energy. A “smart-grid”will manage all power usage on the site. The Project will use low electricity consumption technologies in all of its facilities, including LED lighting, energy efficient appliances, advanced building & insulation techniques and demand-side energy management techniques and practices. The entire Project will be designed around a patented central energy management system incorporating battery storage. The design and construction of the Project will incorporate the latest heating and cooling technologies along with extensive use of wood burning fireplaces and stoves. An onsite water treatment system will recycle water, along with waste minimization practices and techniques. Locally made pottery and utensils will replace plastic and other one-time use products. An active recycling campaign will further offset any necessary one-time use items, such as paper.
